The Big Chill is a band from Adelaide, South Australia, that formed in 1994 and quickly gained popularity on Australia's alternative radio stations. They blend ska, reggae, rock and speedy punk to create an energetic, infectious sound. Their first two albums, Origin of Species and The Open Soul Revue, earned them a reputation as a creative, energetic live band in Australia. After signing with a record label, the band released No Exit in 2001, an album of soulful, laid-back reggae songs, and receiving airplay on Triple J, it soon achieved cult status. The Big Chill disbanded in 2006 but have since reunited for several special reunion shows, proving they still have a loyal fan base.
