About The Darkraver
The Darkraver (real name Kai Kooi) is an eclectic Dutch DJ and Producer well known for his mastery and electrifying performances in the hardcore and gabber genre of electronic dance music. His iconic style of mixing combines hard beats and scratch-samples from his turntables, synths and other equipment.
The Darkraver has been serving up hard-hitting sets since the early 90s, and has earned massive respect from fellow DJs throughout Europe and beyond. He hosted his own show on Radio 538, and is a co-founder of the documentary series Time Warp, dedicated to the history of Dutch gabber culture.
In addition to performing onstage, The Darkraver is also a prolific composer and producer, having written over 50 tracks and a number of remixes. He has released five studio albums throughout his career, and continues to tour and host events worldwide.
