About The Ruts DC
The Ruts DC is an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1978, shortly after the dissolution of The Ruts. The four original members of the group were vocalist Malcolm Owen, guitarist Paul Fox, drummer Dave Ruffy, and bassist John "Segs" Jennings. The group released their debut album, The Crack, in 1979 and quickly developed a reputation as one of the most exciting post-punk groups in the UK. The Ruts DC has gone on to release a number of albums over the years, including two compilations and the live album Animal Now. They also had several charting singles, most notably "Babylons Burning" and "Something That I Said". The Ruts DC are credited with influencing a number of notable bands, including U2 and R.E.M. While the band officially disbanded in 1983, they reunited multiple times, the most recent being in 2007 for an album entitled Rhythm Collision Volume 2.
