Girl From the North Country is a modern melodic folk band that draws inspiration from classic, acoustic-driven alt-country. Founded in Brussels in 2016, the trio consists of Scottish vocalist and songwriter Beth Arzy, Belgian guitarist Paul Anthonee, and Norwegian bassist Thor Egil Leirtrø. Through an eclectic blend of americana, folk, and traditional ballads, they tell stories of love, anguish, and loss. Since 2017, the band has toured extensively across continental Europe, playing over 250 live shows, including major festivals such as Live at Heart. Their singles ‘Collection of Moons’, ‘Banks of the Quay’, and ‘Tired (of Trying)’ received acclaim from music blogs and radio stations alike. Their debut album, "When You Reach Me", is set to be released in June 2021.
