Pygmalion is an electronic project from French composer Mathieu Morel. He has released more than a dozen albums since 2000, blending genres from folk, rock, and jazz to create dreamy, synth-heavy soundscapes. Morel's work often explores the interaction between acoustic and digital sound, while also exploring themes of heartache, desire, and nostalgia in his lyrics. Pygmalion has collaborated with artists ranging from the French band Chevalrex to the Icelandic violinist Ragnar Kjartansson. The project has also received praise from several of the tastemakers in the French music scene, including playing several major music festivals on their home continent. Pygmalion's most recent album “Les Chants Du Nord” was released in 2020.
