Rodrigo y Gabriela are an internationally acclaimed Mexican acoustic guitar duo recognized for their distinct fusion of flamenco, heavy metal and jazz. Originally from Mexico City, they gave up their initial career aspirations in heavy metal and earned popularity after moving to Dublin, Ireland in 1999. They released their breakthrough self-titled album in 2006, which reached the Top 10 on Billboard's World Music charts. They have since released a number of studio albums and contributed to a series of soundtracks. They have also earned two Latin Grammy awards and a Classical BRIT Award for their classic performance of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”. Rodrigo y Gabriela are known for their unique style of playing, with the two creating intricate duets that range from gentle flamenco to hard rock.
