The group has charted many songs on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart, winning awards for songwriting and vocal performances. Over ten critics awards have been awarded to various members of the band. They have also had the honor of performing for the 2012 presidential inauguration.

Casting Crowns' members include Mark Hall, Juan Devevo, Melodee DeVevo, Megan Garrett, Chris Huffman, and Brian Scoggins. In 2015, the band was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

The band has released seven studio albums, one compilation album, some Christmas music, and has also recorded four live albums. Their songs typically focus on faith in God, hope, and love.
