Steve Poltz is an American singer-songwriter from San Diego, California. He is best known for his critically acclaimed music career, beginning in the early 1990s with his partnership with songwriter, folk artist Jewel. The pair wrote and co-produced her debut album, Pieces of You, which went on to sell over 12 million records. Since then, Poltz has gone on to have a successful solo career, releasing 10 albums and over 13 EPs since 1997. He has collaborated with musicians such as Ryan Adams, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Folds, and Kelly Willis. Poltz' music combines country, folk and indie rock styles, and he has toured widely with national acts such as The Verve Pipe, Wilco, Ani DiFranco, and Jorma Kaukonen. His most recent release is Shine On, a studio album of original music.
