Pat Metheny is an American jazz guitarist and composer from Lee's Summit, Missouri. With nine Grammy awards and over 20 solo albums, Metheny is one of the most prolific jazz musicians of our time. He is known for his unique jazz-fusion style, blending elements of rock, world, and classical music with jazz idioms. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated and performed with a long list of music legends, including Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, Patitucci, John Scofield, and many more. Metheny has also enjoyed a great deal of solo success, releasing several albums that have achieved critical acclaim and commercial success, such as Secret Story (1992) and Speaking of Now (2001). He launched a new trio in 2014, The Unity Band, performing extensively on the international circuit. Metheny continues to be an active member of the jazz community, and is beloved by music fans everywhere.
