About Failure

Failure were an alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in the early 1990s. The band was originally comprised of Greg Edwards on guitar and lead vocals, Ken Andrews on lead guitar and background vocals, and Robert Gauss on drums. They released their debut album Comfort in 1992, and were quickly compared to their early '90s peers, namely Sunny Day Real Estate, Soundgarden, and Nirvana. The album received praise from critics, but failed to make much of an impression commercially.
Their follow-up album, Magnified, was released in 1994 and became a critical success, as the band had begun to mix in elements of industrial rock and metal. Despite positive reviews and subsequent tours, the band failed to capitalize on success, and their final studio album, Fantastic Planet, was released in 1996. The album was their most successful and widely praised, but failed to make a dent commercially. The band split in 1997, leaving a legacy of both critical and commercial failure.
