BLK ODYSSY is the alter ego of Milwaukee-based rapper and producer Marissa Renee. She has released two albums since 2017; her debut, Journey On, was met with critical acclaim, and her follow-up, The Figurine Experience, was 2018's "Album of the Year" according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She is known for her "intricate lyricism", which blends hip hop, neo-soul, and jazz influences. Besides albums, BLK ODYSSY has released a handful of singles and EPs, and she has performed across the US and Canada, as well as making appearances on national tv and streaming platforms. In addition to her music, she has become a prominent voice on social justice and other important topics.
