About Quasi

Quasi is an American rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band was formed in 1993 by Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss, both of whom had played in other groups prior to forming Quasi. The lineup is rounded out by Coomes and Weiss on guitar and drums, respectively. Together, the trio combines elements of indie rock, experimental and avant-garde to create an original sound. Quasi's sound has evolved over the years, but generally remains focused on mixing melodic acoustic guitar with off-kilter drums and passionate delivery. Since forming, Quasi has released ten studio albums as well as a number of EPs and live recordings. Quasi has toured all over the world, including stints in Europe, Japan, and the US. Their music has been praised by critics, and the band has a dedicated following of fans who often come out to their live shows.
