About Jon Cleary

Jon Cleary is an American multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from New Orleans. While renowned for his work as a solo artist, he is also a member of the band Bonerama and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen. He began his solo career in 1996 with the release of his debut album Alligator Lips and Dirty Rice, and since then he has released seven additional albums. Cleary is known for his unique blend of R&B, funk, soul, and blues, which was shaped by his experience of growing up in Orleans and London, and his multi-genre approach has earned him fans worldwide. He has gone on to receive multiple Grammy Award nominations and win two Blues Music Awards. In addition to his solo work and membership in the Bonerama and Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Cleary has collaborated with popular artists such as Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, and Yola.
