About Pitchshifter
Pitchshifter are a British industrial metal and electronic rock band formed in 1989 by brothers Jon and Mark Clayden, bass guitarist and singer-songwriter respectively. Their sound ranges from heavy, buzzsaw guitar riffs to sparse and mellow ambient elements, incorporating elements of electronica, industrial, punk, dubstep, and jungle. After releasing their first record, Industrial, in 1991, Pitchshifter went on to release five studio albums and one EP, the most successful being their 1998 record www.pitchshifter.com, which was certified gold in the UK. Following a period of relative inactivity they released P.S.I. in 2011 and their final album, Un-United Kingdom, in 2012. The band broke up in 2012 and the Clayden brothers gone on to form a new project, Collisions. Pitchshifters vast influence on rock music throughout the 90's and 00's has seen them described as "the definitive British industrial group".
