Rickie Lee Jones is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and musician from Chicago, Illinois. She started her career in 1977 with her eponymous debut album that featured songs such as "Chuck E.'s in Love" and "Young Blood". Across her career she has put out albums with folk, pop, jazz, and even blues influences, and has been compared to the likes of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell.
Her work has been recognized and awarded multiple times, with two Grammy awards in the 80s for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female and Best New Artist. Her long-running career has seen 19 albums released since her debut, with 2018 seeing yet another album, Kicks, released. Her music has been covered by a wide range of musicians, including versions of her songs by the likes of Macy Gray, Elton John, and Amy Winehouse.
