Robert Trujillo is an American musician and songwriter best known as the bassist of the heavy metal band Metallica. Prior to Metallica, he was best known for his 10-year tenure with funk metal band Suicidal Tendencies and thrash metal band Infectious Grooves.

He has also recorded with crossover thrash bands such asJerry Cantrell, Infectious Grooves, Punk core band ...and Oceans and more.

Trujillo has released two solo albums, both of which are music from his own films. He also wrote and acted in the 2009 documentary Metallica: Some Kind of Monster.

Trujillo also created an independent video production company called 'Metalle Preacha'. His music and playing style has been highly praised, as well as his work with Metallica, for which he has been credited as an integral part of Metallica’s success. He has won four MTV Video Music Awards with Metallica
