Running Bear is an American singer-songwriter who is best known for his 1960 hit "Running Bear," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His music blended classic country, folk, blues, and rock 'n' roll, and he was one of the earliest artists to bridge the gap between country and pop. After the success of "Running Bear," he went on to release several notable follow-up singles, including "Little Star" and "Indian Reservation," the latter of which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1972.

Running Bear's career spanned more than two decades, and he toured throughout the United States and Canada.
