About Krishna Das
Krishna Das is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and chant master known for his signature kirtan, or devotional chant, style of music. With songs written in call-and-response style, his work draws influence from traditional Hindustani devotional music, as well as gospel, blues, jazz, folk, and rock. He has also integrated Indian musical instruments such as the tabla, harp, and harmonium into his music. Krishna Das has released 16 albums, including collaborations with other artists. He has performed in a variety of venues such as Carnegie Hall, Red Rocks, the Hollywood Bowl, and numerous festivals. In 2004, he was awarded "Best Musical Album" for Breath of the Heart at the 18th Annual New Age Retailer Awards. In 2019, Krishna Das was awarded a Grammy in the Best New Age Album category for his album Live Ananda.
