The Beautiful Girls are an Australian acoustic rock band formed in Sydney in 2002. They are well known for their unique blend of acoustic rock and reggae, especially their highly successful first single 'Periscopes'. The band's first album, Learn Yourself, was released in 2003 and was an immediate success in their native Australia, reaching double platinum certification. They followed it up with two more albums, We're Already Gone (2005) and Spooks (2008), both of which also sold well in Australia. The Beautiful Girls consistently toured their homeland until they disbanded in 2011, following the release of their fifth album, Ziggurats. All throughout their career, The Beautiful Girls gained a cult following and were highly praised for their original sound.
