About Models
Models were an Australian post-punk/electropop group formed in 1978. They were led by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Sean Kelly and produced by American producer Mark Opitz. The band's music combined punk energy with electronic keyboards and percussion, and drew inspiration from early new wave and synthpop acts. Their debut single "Barbados" reached #3 on the Australian Kent Music Report singles chart in 1980.
In 1981, Models enjoyed further success with the singles "Out of Mind Out of Sight", which reached No. 1 on ARIA Singles Chart, and "Big On Love". The following year, the group released their debut album, Cut Lunch, as well as their follow-up single "I Hear Motion". The band released numerous albums and EPs, and a greatest hits compilation in 1985.
In 1987, Kevin Murphy replaced Sean Kelly on vocals, and the band released their most successful single "Down Home". The band
