Delano Smith is an American-born American DJ, producer, and Detroit Techno pioneer. He is known for his mastery of blending genres together and his deep, gospel-influenced Detroit brand of house music. After his mother passed away when he was a teenager, Smith found solace in music and started playing the drums. After studying Biology at the University of Toledo, Smith began collecting records and mixing in the late 1970s.

He began DJing 10 years later and has since developed a cult following. His career has flourished and has seen him release numerous albums and 12-inches on some of the mellowest, groove-laden house music ever created. A regular feature on NTS Radio, Smith is considered among the very best when it comes to Detroit's rich, diverse music landscape. He often plays music at some of the biggest clubs around the world, such as Fabric in London and Output in New York.
