Emptyset is an electronic music duo composed of James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas. Founded in Bristol, England in 2005, the group has developed a unique sound that fuses together elements of techno, ambient and experimental music and sound art. Through a series of acclaimed albums across various labels like Subtext, Emptyset has earned a strong reputation for their dense and powerful soundscapes that restructure traditional ideas of traditional electronic music. Recent releases have explored the possibilities of cutting-edge technologies such as 3D loudspeaker arrays and artificial intelligence algorithms, as well as returning to acoustic instrumentation and digital sound processing. Live shows often integrate installations to create a unique audiovisual experience.
