Panda Bear is an American experimental musician, record producer, and songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland. He is best known as one of the founding members of the influential animal collective, and has released five solo albums since 1999. His music is heavily influenced by ambient, electronic, and psychedelic sounds, and is often referred to as avant-garde. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Björk, Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear. His most critically acclaimed solo album to date, Person Pitch, was released in 2007 and was featured in several publications' year-end lists. Additionally, he has created several critically acclaimed mixes, including his contribution to the LateNightTales series. Panda Bear continues to make music that pushes boundaries and experiments with soundscapes.
