About Damien Ricketson
Damien Ricketson is an Australian composer, performance artist, and music producer. He has been writing, recording, and performing since the late 1990s, beginning as a solo ambient/experimental artist before expanding his range to include collaborations of pop, rock, and electronic genres. He has also composed music for a variety of film, television, and theatre productions. He co-founded and performed with the post-rock band, Scribble, as well as the electro-acoustic ensemble, The Sydney Continuum. He was awarded Best Score at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 for his composition for the film Simone de Beauvoir's Babies, and his music has been released on labels such as Kranky, Important Records, and Sub Rosa. In recent years, he has also been a curator and host of a number of creative music festivals in Australia.
