About The Apartments

The Apartments is an Australian indie-rock music group from Brisbane, fronted by singer and primary songwriter Peter Milton Walsh. The Apartments were formed in 1977 and established as one of the most influential acts of the post-punk era. After an extended period of touring and recording throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the band disbanded in 1998 ending a 20 year career.

The Apartments recorded 10 studio albums and multiple EPs all characterized by Walsh's deep, melancholic vocal style and distinct mix of alternative and folk-rock sensibilities. Songs like "Saturday Night", "The Shyest Time" and "Mr Somewhere" have been praised by critics and gained strong recognition from fans.

In 2011, The Apartments reformed and tour frequently. They have recently released a new album on April 15th, 2020, entitled In and Out of the Light. It is their first studio album in over twenty years.
