About Gareth Liddiard
Gareth Liddiard is an Australian musician, best known for being the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for The Drones, an alternative rock band which he established in 1997. He was a part of the original lineup alongside Rui Pereira on drums, Fiona Kitschin on bass and Adam Studer on guitar. After the band’s breakup in 2018, Liddiard embarked on a solo career and in 2020 released the album “Strange Tourist”. He is now the frontman for the new band Tropical Fuck Storm. In 2019, Liddiard was awarded the ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album and was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. He has also released various EPs and collaborated with several outspoken artists, including Mick Turner and Mick Harvey. Liddiard continues to be an influential figure in Australian music, and his work as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer has been recognized widely.
