About Larry Carlton
Larry Carlton is a jazz, fusion and instrumental rock guitarist from Los Angeles, California. He started his career in the mid-1970s by playing in the jazz fusion band, "The Crusaders" before going solo in 1977. He has released over 30 albums over his 40+ year career and collaborated with a variety of artists from different musical genres, including Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, and Michael Jackson. Since the early 1980s, he has earned several Grammy Awards and has received accolades from many notable guitarists, such as Jeff Beck and Steve Lukather. He has also composed soundtracks for movies, such as RoboCop, Back To The Future, and The Color Purple. His sound is instantly recognizable due velvety tone and signature voice of his Stratocaster. He continues to play and tour extensively and is considered one of the best jazz guitarists of our time.
