About Youth of Today

Youth of Today was an American hardcore punk band from New Milford, Connecticut active from 1985-1990. Their music combined elements of punk and straight edge ethics. Their short existence had an immense impact on the straight edge genre and their sound influenced several generations of punk music. Youth of Today's albums "Break Down the Walls" (1986) and "We're Not In This Alone" (1988) were considered to be some of the best hardcore albums of their era, and have been cited as inspirational for the underground punk scene. The group broke up in 1990, but left a legacy of timeless music that has stayed relevant with the changing trends in punk music. The members of the band went on to form other bands such as Shelter, Bold and Inside Out.
