About The Rural Alberta Advantage
The Rural Alberta Advantage is an indie rock band formed in 2005 in Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Paul Banwatt, Amy Cole, and Nils Edenloff. Their music has been described as folk-influenced post-rock with an appreciation for country and Americana roots. Their albums feature lo-fi instrumentation, vocal harmonies, and emotionally charged lyrics. Their first album, Hometowns, was released in 2008 and won a Juno award for Best New Group. The albums following have earned the band international exposure, with praise from critics and the chance to play at some of the world’s largest music festivals. Recently, The Rural Alberta Advantage released their fifth studio album, The Wild, in 2019.
