Cursive is an experimental rock band formed in 1995 in Omaha, Nebraska, made up of four core members, vocalist/guitarist Tim Kasher, guitarist Ted Stevens, drummer Clint Schnase and bassist Matt Maginn. Much of their sound is rooted in post hard-core, punk, and indie rock. Cursive has released eight studio albums and are considered one of the leading post hardcore bands of the 2000s. They're known for their "cinematic" qualities, where Melancholy and emotion play a large part in their songs. Their 2000 classic, Domestica, continues to be heralded as one of the most important suites of pop songs of the 2000s. Cursive has a large and devoted cult following who tend to come out in droves to see their incendiary live shows.
