Tycho is an ambient music artist from San Francisco, California. His music blends ambient aesthetics with post-rock and shoegaze styles. He began his musical career in 1998 as a bass player and music producer for Isochemlabs. After releasing his debut album Sunrise Projector in 2004, he gradually became well-known on the indie scene for his stunning melodic contributions and skillful production. In 2011, he released his third album, Dive, which was met with critical acclaim, and established him as one of the preeminent chillwave producers of the time. He released his album Awake in 2014 and Epoch in 2016, who both reached the top 100 on the Billboard 200 album chart. In 2019, he returned with his first album in three years: Weather. His sound is widely considered timeless, establishing him as an influential ambient producer.
