Vieux Farka Toure is an acclaimed Malian singer-songwriter and guitarist. His style is a unique blend of African desert blues, Malian traditional music, rock, and pop. His biggest influence is the work of his father, Ali Farka Toure, who was a renowned guitarist and vocalist celebrated for his unique blend of American blues and traditional African styles of music. Since his debut album in 2006, Vieux has gone on to release six additional albums, collaborating with Grammy-winning artists and touring extensively around the world. He has become renowned for his passionate and soulful singing, dynamic and intricate guitar playing, and for combining traditional elements of African music with modern influences. His latest project “Samba” has brought together African and South American musicians, celebrating their common African roots.
