About Echo and The Bunnymen
Echo and The Bunnymen are an English alternative rock band formed in Liverpool, England in 1978. The band originally consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, bassist Les Pattinson, and drummer Pete De Freitas. The band have released twelve studio albums, and achieved moderate success throughout their career. They had several UK Top 40 hits including "The Cutter", which reached number 8 in 1983 and "The Killing Moon" which peaked at number 9 in 1984. The group disbanded in 1988, but reunited in 1997, and have continued to perform and record. Heavily influenced by The Doors, their sound is characterised by McCulloch's distinctive vocal style. They have also been described as dark artists who combine post-punk and psychedelic rock elements.
