His song "Bringing It Back", from his 2018 album Perfection Killed The Cat, earned him two SAMA (South African Music Award) nominations in 2019, and his 2016 album Introvertigo was nominated for Blues Album of the Year at the 2017 All Africa Music Awards. Dan's live performances are acclaimed for his outstanding guitar playing, backing vocalists and tight backing band. Drawing influences from other blues rock artists such as Eric Clapton, Johnny Lee Hooker, and Otis Redding, Patlansky's sound is distinguished by its songwriting, meshing soulful lyrics with blues rock. His passionate delivery has earned him worldwide recognition and has resulted in sell-out concerts in South Africa.
