True Widow are an American stoner-gaze/post-metal band from Dallas, Texas. Formed in 2007, the band consists of guitarist/singer Dan Phillips, bassist/singer Nicole Estill, and drummer Slim TX. True Widow's music combines the heavy dreaminess of shoegaze with the dark atmosphere of post-metal. Their songs often begin with a familiar rock sound, before gradually giving way to a hypnotic, wall of sound drone. Over the course of their career, True Widow has released 5 full length albums: self-titled (2008), As High As the Highest Heavens and from the Center to the Circumference of the Earth (2011), Circumambulation (2013), Avvolgere (2016), and most recently, DVLL (2019). The band has toured extensively in the US and Europe, playing alongside some of the most prominent heavy acts in the past decade.
