Alexis Taylor is an English singer-songwriter and composer who is best known as the lead vocalist for English electronic dance band Hot Chip. She has also released five solo albums, beginning with Rubbed Out in 2008. Taylor also joined the band About Group and released two albums with them. Her solo work has been described as mellow, often featuring acoustic and synth-pop elements. She often fuses her witty, story-driven lyrics with her soulful, depth-filled vocals. Alongside her work as an artist and performer, Taylor has also collaborated with many other highly acclaimed musicians, including headlining appearances at festivals such as Glastonbury. She is currently preparing to release her sixth solo album, which is set for release in 2021.
